Had an interesting day yesterday out doing photography tuition where we visited the crash site of the Super fortress on High Shelf stones at Bleaklow. We arrived in dull overcast conditions with a strong breeze but the weather improved as the morning went on giving us a good mixture lighting conditions.
Driving back down the snake pass and I decided we couldn’t miss out an opportunity to shoot one of my favourite waterfalls in the Peak District.
We made our way up Fairbrook in glorious sunshine finding plenty of water coming down due to the recent wet weather, I usually (and did!!) shoot the water fall vertically but decided to try a landscape composition taking in more of the lush greenery of the bank sides.
I wanted to convey some movement to the water and due to the bright sunshine used a 3 stop ND filter in combination with my polariser and 3 stop soft grad to get a slow enough shutter speed.(0.6sec f10 @ 14mm 0.9 ND, polarising filter + 0.9 soft ND grad filters)
